2006 Fishing Reports

September 25, 2006
Cape Ann report
The blitz continues with excellent numbers of stripers and blues feasting on peanut bunker. Reports from many reliable sources indicate that large schools of bluefish can be found just about everywhere from the area beaches to the coves and bays. I found several schools of blues working all around Milk Island last Friday (see the video clip).

The stripers can be found mixed in or in smaller pods working the same peanut bunker schools. I found stripers from Straitmouth Gap , Milk Is., and along Sea Gull point on over to Pebble Beach. The guys casting hard baits from Pebble, Good Harbor and areas along the Back Shore are reporting some stripers in the 40 inch + size. Now would be a good time to get out and fish the shore for some great action.

Windy and rough conditions most of last week kept me inshore so I don’t have any up to date news on the tuna. I hope to get offshore at least once this week, but if not, the stripers and blues should make for some great action!
